Our Commitment to Safety in Action: Quarterly Refresh and Refocus Workshop

Elevating Safety Standards through Continuous Learning and Engagement

ESG Alignment

The workshop reinforces our dedication to workforce and community well-being through mental health initiatives and a supportive workplace culture. Engagement with external stakeholders, like the Healthy Tradie Project, extends our commitment to broader societal well-being.

Our safety initiatives, including the workshop, showcase our dedication to robust governance practices. Through systematic improvement of safety protocols, we ensure proactive risk management and regulatory compliance. Fostering a culture of accountability and transparency upholds the highest standards of corporate governance, making safety a priority at all levels.

SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

At Diona, we believe in a culture that prioritises the well-being and safety of our team and community. Reflecting this commitment, our teams across the Water North Zones Program came together for their Quarterly Refresh and Refocus Workshop, held at our Eagle Farm Yard. This event was a clear example of our ‘Stop for Safety’ philosophy in action, where we take time to reflect on our practices, learn from our experiences, and reinforce our commitment to safety and mental well-being.

A Day of Engagement, Learning, and Team Spirit

The day kicked off with a team breakfast, setting the tone for a workshop that was as much about building camaraderie as it was about learning. The morning sessions were dedicated to enhancing our safety practices, with interactive demonstrations on lifting road plates and manual handling, alongside in-depth discussions on risk management. These sessions, informed by insights from across the industry and our own experiences at Diona, encouraged active participation. The feedback and suggestions collected are invaluable, promising to further refine our safety and operating procedures.

Transitioning into the afternoon, the focus shifted to mental well-being with a poignant session led by a guest speaker from the Healthy Tradie Project. The presentation emphasised the importance of psychological health in the workplace, providing practical advice on maintaining well-being through exercise, adequate sleep, healthy eating, and engaging in enjoyable activities. The day’s activities concluded with a wall-climbing challenge at Urban Xtreme.

Reinforcing Our Core Values

Through events like the Quarterly Refresh and Refocus Workshop, Diona reinforces its core value of we care for people’s well-being. It’s a tangible expression of our ‘Stop for Safety’ approach, where pausing to reassess how we work ensures that we not only perform to our best but also safeguard the health and well-being of our team and the broader community. We’re proud to bring our crews, project teams, and stakeholders together in this shared exercise, fostering an environment of support, inclusivity, and collective responsibility.
