SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)

Last weekend, Diona was proud to support the Tathra Wharf to Waves – a community event where we partnered with Batyr as part of our commitment to supporting regional communities. Through events like this, we can continue to support Batyr to raise awareness about the importance of engaging in positive conversations about mental health and reaching out for support when needed.

The event, which consisted of a beach run, bike ride and ocean swim attracted big crowds, with over 340 people participating in the swim alone. Despite some challenging weather conditions on the Sunday morning resulting in a last-minute change of location to the ocean swim, the event was a huge success with over 100 volunteers working hard to ensure everything ran smoothly.

In addition to raising awareness for Batyr and helping them launch their highly successful batyr@school programs in the Bega Valley, all money raised was donated to Tathra’s local community including the Tathra Primary School, Tathra Surf club, and Tathra Pre School.

A big shout out to Diona employees Nathan Smith, Chris Dimond and David Crowhurst together with Bryony Tucker from Batyr for making the trip to the South Coast and volunteering their time across the weekend.

This significant donation underscores the event’s dual focus on mental health advocacy and tangible community support, further enriching the lives of Tathra’s residents.
