Diona was engaged by Bardavcol to upgrade the sewer and water network, providing increased capacity to meet the projected future demands of the Gawler East area.
The $59.97 million Gawler East Link Road (GELR) Project involves the construction of essential transport infrastructure to support residential development in the Gawler East urban growth area. The project involves the construction of a new 5.5 kilometre road including new and existing road network upgrades.
Diona was engaged by Bardavcol to upgrade the sewer and water network, providing increased capacity to meet the projected future demands the Gawler East area. This work builds on Diona's existing relationships with Bardavcol, Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and SA Water.
Diona delivered the following works:
- Construction of 4.3 kilometres of DN375 sewer main with associated man holes and connections
- Construction of 4.3 kilometres of DN 375 PVC-M water main with fire plugs and valves
- Connections into the existing networks
- Testing and coordination of commissioning with SA Water
- Suspension of sewer and water pipelines from a bridge substructure.
The Gawler East Link Road will provide local traffic with direct access to Main North Road without travelling through the Gawler Town Centre, reducing travel times, reducing the likelihood of crashes and minimising the vehicle emissions caused by travel delays.
