Diona secures the Water Northern Zones Program with Urban Utilities
Urban Utilities has announced Diona as the successful proponent for the Northern Zones Water Program covering regions north of the Brisbane River including Lockyer Valley, Somerset Council and Brisbane CBD.
Under this program, Diona, along with their strategic partner Mott MacDonald, will deliver design and construction works for Urban Utilities water infrastructure including trunk and reticulation water mains, reservoirs and facilities. Diona is the sole delivery partner in the northern region for the next six years.
Diona Queensland State Manager Richard Willis said that this is a significant achievement for Diona as it paves the way for future growth in the Queensland market.
“In a rapidly changing and somewhat uncertain Covid-19 world, Diona takes the responsibility to help continue to deliver and maintain our water infrastructure network seriously. We’re glad to know that we are playing a part to help maintain this essential service,” said Mr Willis.
“Urban Utilities is critical to our business, and we value our relationship with them greatly. This contract provides the opportunity to continue building stronger ties with Urban Utilities and work alongside them to deliver high-quality infrastructure, safely, for the greater Brisbane region.”
According to Mr Willis, the customer-centric values that Urban Utilities uphold align closely with that of Diona’s and will be a central focus in delivering works under this partnership.
“Customers at the heart is a sentiment we live by at Diona. Achieving the best possible outcomes for Urban Utilities customers will be at the core of how we approach this partnership. We look forward to working with Urban Utilities to engage with the community and through open dialogue, ensure their needs are consistently met and the highest possible standards in service is provided,” he said.
Mr Willis said the six-year partnership will also mean visibility, consistency and continuity of work for the Diona team for the foreseeable future.
“Securing a long-term contract with Urban Utilities, especially in the current economic climate, will help underpin the sustainability of the business going forward. Additionally, we will have the ability to learn from and share experiences and skills with Urban Utilities.”
