Diona awarded Icon Water Belconnen Trunk Sewer Augmentation Project
Diona has been engaged on behalf of Icon Water to design, construct and commission a 2.4 kilometre gravity pipeline and ancillaries as part of the Belconnen sewerage network pending planning approvals.
Located seven kilometres north-west of central Canberra, the Belconnen Trunk Sewer Augmentation Project will be a key priority for Icon Water. The driver for this project is to comply with Icon Water’s commitment to contain all wastewater flows (no overflows) up to a one in 10-year rainfall event.
Diona's NSW/ACT State Manager, Brian McGuinness said that Diona is looking forward to working with Icon Water on this significant project.
"The Belconnen Trunk Sewer project win reinforces Diona's industry leading capabilities in water and wastewater services construction," Mr McGuinness said.
"Diona's newly expanded operations in the Canberra and surrounding regions will be significantly boosted by this Icon Water project to be led by Project Manager, Ray Helou."
Diona's robust processes for environmental monitoring and management, along with community consultation will be critical to the success of this project. Trenchless technologies will be utilised in identified areas to mitigate environmental impact.
