Bicycles for Kids

Late last year, the Diona South Australia office held a team building day. As part of the days activities, the Diona team hand built four bicycles for children at Munno Para Primary School through the charitable organisation Treasure Boxes.

Treasure Boxes helps women and children who are victims of domestic violence by providing clothing, blankets, linen, toys and most importantly - essential nursery equipment such as cots, car seats and high chairs to keep newborns, babies and children safe during these extremely distressing times.

“The kids were so happy to receive the bikes they rode up and down our driveway testing them out for half an hour. Not only did we all have a great day getting to know each other it was also really nice to give something back to the community,” said Eleni Zachopoulos, PA/Business Administrator.

The Well-being Leader at the children's school later sent a message of thanks,

"Just wanted to say a massive thank you for yesterday. The kids have been talking about it all day today. It was such a cool experience to see the people that had made them and then see the kids riding them outside. Things like this remind me why I got into this job in the first place, and amongst the chaos of day-to-day school life, it is really refreshing to be able to have an experience like that."
