Business with heart
We were all shocked to hear about the devastating bushfires in Victoria, and keen do our bit to help. Diona and Pipeline Training Australia made a cash donation of $15,000, and asked the Salvation Army for advice about what goods might be needed for any donations people may be making.
The call went out, and Diona employees— plus their families, friends and colleagues— rose to the challenge, bringing a mountain of donations. It was too much for any of Diona’s trucks.
Fleet Manager and truck enthusiast Luke McBeath believed Volvo’s new Euro 5 was the best truck for the job, so he asked Volvo if they could spare one for this special mission— and yes they were willing to help. Fatty drove this brand new Euro 5 to Victoria full to the brim with goods.
A special thank you must go out to the
following people:
• JMS Make Over and Fashion Boutique, who donated a significant quantity of new women’s clothing and accessories
• Volvo Truck and Bus, Sydney, who donated their truck for our trip to Victoria
• Coldys Towbars and Bull Bars, who sent down an additional truckload of donations that they had put together
• GHD—many thanks to the people from GHD in their Sydney and Parramatta offices
• Hays Recruitment —many thanks to the people in their Brisbane office
We were blown away by the generous contributions of everybody involved. The Salvation Army have asked us to forward their thanks to all involved.
The hard efforts did not go unnoticed as Diona, Pipeline, Volvo and the many others that lent their hand in the time of need was published in the Hills Shire Times on 10//03/09
